January 2017

Oops. Lots to catch up on. Just for fun, here are a ton of pictures.

Josie named her unicorn "Rainbowie"

With Christmas money, we got a 3 month pass to KidSpace in Pasadena.
They have a lot of stuff to touch and discover, play and create with.
The girls had a good time and we look forward to going again!

They have a few outdoor spaces with some musical instruments, blocks, and science projects.

We are attending many birthdays this month. The girls have 3 friends turning 3, and 1 turning 2. We also have a few 40th birthdays to attend, too ;) Alex is enjoying all of the colorful cake and icing! (ok me too) They are loving playing with new toys and getting dressed up for parties!

Happy 2nd Birthday Dylan!

And catching up with my friends while we watch the little ones!

Happy 3rd Birthday Jack!

Champagne at kids' parties FTW!

Yesterday we went to the girls' annual check up.
The girls were AWESOME and super well behaved, and let the doctor and nurse do everything they needed to do to check them out - they stood on the scale and got measured, they even assisted in taking their temperatures (in the ear). They answered Dr. Micky's questions and didn't even flinch when she checked their tummies and breathing.
The girls are still on the smaller side of the spectrum - Josie is 8th% (35.5 inches, 26.5 lbs) and Alex is 20th% (36 inches, 28lbs) but perfectly proportional and eating well. When asked what her favorite food was, Alex answered "pineapple" and Josie answered "sandwiches, noodles, pizza" ha ha.

Flu Shot and Christmas Story Time!

I took the morning off yesterday to take the girls to get their flu shots. The girls did really well - Alex was apprehensive and didn't want to get out of the car at the doctor's office, but for the shots themselves, they were both super brave and only cried for a split second, then were happy about getting fun bandaids and stickers.

Jumping on the couch at the Drs' office.
What a difference a year makes!

Here is a little video we made to tell daddy how they did:

I took the opportunity to take them to the park and story time, which was a special Christmas Story Time where we read books and sang Christmas songs, and did two really fun Christmas crafts.

Walking to Story Time

Brittany, the girls, and their friend Penny

Hard at work.

I took the girls home then came into work, and was shocked to look at the clock and see that it was only 11 a.m. - hah! A full day before putting in a full day. With coming home and doing the bed time routing and cooking dinner and cleaning up, no wonder I fall asleep as soon as I get into bed!

Our real wreath!

Christmas Tree

Even though we are going to CT this year, we wanted to get a Christmas tree so that the girls get used to some Christmas tradition at our house. Because it was supposed to rain Saturday, we decided to go Friday, which apparently is a very unpopular day for tree buying because the lots were all opening Saturday whoops. BUT Home Depot was open, and they are the best. And our tree is AWESOME and smells amazing. No regrets even though we will come home to a very dead and dry tree after Christmas!

These girls had no interest in posing with the tree.

Can you find them? They were over it and ran off.
Our tree is gorgeous though, and worthy of a photo!

Josie was really good at "scalloping" the garland!
I am sure she wasn't taught this, just a natural talent!

And even singing Frosty the Snowman!

Alex...on the other hand.

"finishing touches"

"I am building a nest for pink bear"
Her actual words.

Almost done.

Looking good, Alex.

Putting Pink Bear into the nest.

Photo of the finished product coming soon...i.e. when its finished!
