I think my favorite part of the trip was when we ventured out for dinner on Friday night. We ended up at a pretty nice establishment, Il Fornaio, it was empty because it was 5 pm, the high chairs looked unused (we are the only ones to skip the pizza/pasta family joint next door and go here, I guess) and the wait staff was attentive and the food was amazing. The girls were really great (relatively speaking) every time we went out to eat. From dinner, we went for a walk down the strip to the Bellagio Fountains, watched a show, then headed to Planet Hollywood for some ice cream, then back to the room in time to put the girls to bed.
Naps, and having to head back to our room to manage them, really do make it difficult to plan our day. Especially when the naps are extra long thanks to the exhaustion of playing in the pool. Which makes it feel like we are wasting so much precious time on a short weekend trip like this one.
While we were in Las Vegas, we met up with our friends, the Arcaris, who have 8 month old twin girls, and their son Nicholas, who is a few months older than the girls. They came and played in our hotel pool one day, and the next we went to visit them in their new home. The kids had a great time and love investigating new toys.
Oh! And the girls were AWESOME in the car. They slept 2 of the 4 hours on our way to Vegas. They didn't nap much on the way back, but they were pretty good in the car, with few complaints. We played some of their favorite songs and sang along, and that seemed to keep everyone happy enough.
Our first stop at the Nevada border. Josie was taken aback by
how hot it was. There was a strong dessert wind, too, and it kind of felt like a
hair dryer blowing on us. Welcome to Nevada!

Listen, I'm not saying you can't do that, but its better to
have a view of the castle than to stay in this particular castle.

Alex was disappointed to learn that "vacation" didn't involve rides.
She was excited to find out that vacation did involve ice cream on demand.
So she asked for ice cream at every opportunity.
Josie got really good at swimming with her floaties on!

she wanted to do. We had to lure her out of the pool with the
promise of french fries.

Its amazing how fast these kids grow and develop between 2 and 3.
Though I suspect Nicholas is much taller than the girls will be!
If the girls could answer the question of what was their favorite part of
the trip, it would be these people moves from the Signature Towers to the MGM.

and refused to sleep in it. So we put her in the pack n play and Josie took
