Big Girl Beds
A year ago, I bought the girls new mattresses for their mini cribs. I had hoped to avoid buying new mattresses, but when it became necessary (the original ones were falling apart), I committed to using their cribs for at least another year. Which, we did! So here we are, a year later, and I just bought the conversion kits to turn their cribs into twin beds. Oh my. Seriously, heart breaking, but I think its time. I think they will do great in beds, since they are pretty used to staying in their cribs, and it will give us all a nice place to sit to read books at bed time. They are learning how to open doors, too, so now that they wont be trapped in cribs, we can maybe start potty training in a few months. Let's not get too ahead of ourselves.

Disney's California Adventure
Brittany needed time off to help her Grandma through surgery. James and I decided to take advantage and took a few days off as a family. We intended to go to Las Vegas to visit friends, but the weather was supposed to be terrible, so we opted to stay in town and just hang out. We decided to cash in one of our tickets to Disneyland, and went to California Adventure to see what was new over there. We were slightly underwhelmed (its not magical like Disneyland) but considering it was spring break and raining, we had a great time.
We actually got really lucky with the rain - it started just as we were looking for lunch, and would be under cover. We then covered the girls up for nap time, then hunkered down under an awning (with space heaters!) at the wine bar while they napped. The rain thinned the crowds, then mostly stayed away the rest of the day. It only started up again as we were making our way out of the park for the night. James and I invested in some stylish Disneyland parkas that we were glad to have (and useful for covering the stroller while we were on rides, in case it rained again!) and we can bring them again with us next time rain is in the forecast.
Started the morning with some Mickey Pancakes at
home while we waited for rush hour traffic to thin out.
All lines are a perfect opportunity for climbing.
And wanting to be on the Carousel.
(Have you ever heard anyone say "Carousel?" over 500 times? I have.)
Lunch
Nap time! Wine, beer and pretzels!
Post nap - in line for Ariel! (or "Bubbleguppy" ride)
ok, I really could not pick just one of Alex - too cute!
On the Rocket Ships!
Pure Joy
Loved playing in the puddles
And ice cream. Why not?
Lexie loved it.
Really loved it.
Can you tell which of these girls likes getting her photo taken?
And which does not?
Playing on the slides before dinner. I love
that they have this area in the park!
Thank goodness the girls thought one of the buildings was a castle,
since they think Disney means going to a castle.
This fountain was also a hit.
We can't wait to use our third day of passes at Disneyland!
Waiting for a nice sunny and warm weekday after spring break is over to go!

Story Time
After a short break, story time started back up this past Wednesday. The girls just love it. Its crazy to see how they are now some of the older kids in the group. When we started, they were by far the youngest (they had been to infant story time, so they were ready for the toddler one!) and I remember looking at the older kids thinking they had it on lock! Now those older kids are my own.
I just love these pictures of them (courtesy of the nanny) in their sweatshirts from Aunt Laurie and pigtails!
