Mid Week Wrap Up!

So we had some happy happy news on Monday. I took Alexandra to her helmet adjustment appointment, which I am sure I have complained about before, is very far. Its a good 30 - 40 minute drive in traffic, and a colossal pain in the ass. Well wonderful news, she graduated from her helmet!! Her scan showed some major improvement in the brachycephaly. In fact, had this been her first scan, insurance would not have covered a helmet, it is that close to perfect! She has a bit of a "dent" in the back but I am assured that that will fill in in time and is normal. On Sunday I was looking at the dent and thought for sure that would hold us back from graduation, so it was kind of funny that the specialist waived it off as nothing.

This little ham, the night before her appointment!

Coming home helmet free!!!
Happy Day!

First morning without her helmet
Trying on her swim gear now that we will be having a heat wave!
Otherwise, this week has been about the good, the bad, and the ugly....we will go in backwards order:

The Ugly -

Not sure WHAT is going on but Josie has been a bit of a hot mess. She is not going down for naps without ear piercing protests that last for way longer than I am willing to let her "cry it out." A few times we have given up on a nap to let her play until she is lethargic, then put her back down. We have also had 2 nights of difficulty getting her to sleep. (that said, she is still a rock star with sleeping through the night, which I will always knock on all the wood for). She is not happy with eating, diaper changes, being put down, etc. I *think* its a Wonder Weeks thing, plus teething, plus being sick, so let's go with that and hope it ends soon.

The Bad -

This damn time change! WHAT THE HELL!!!! I would curse it more but I do prefer THIS time to the winter "time" and my understanding (???) is that the winter "time" is the "normal" one and this "time" is the "special" one. I wish it was special year round, because I LOVE the later light! And I really don't mind waking up in the dark.

Unlike the "fall back" we haven't had the issue of babies waking up at the crack of dawn confused about why its not wake up time. However, I am now going on day 5 of feeling like I am just dragging through life. I do think the time change has thrown Alex and Josie off a bit, too - and maybe led to Josie's hot mess status? I have woken them up every morning, where they are usually awake and talking to each other a few minutes before "wake up time." I need to adjust because I seriously can't handle life like this anymore!!!

The Good -

In an effort to tire myself out "earlier" I have been re-organizing the house! I've gotten the fridge cleaned out, one side of the kitchen counters polished (with stone polish/sealant), and a whole grocery shopping done WITH meal planning for the week. Tonight I am cleaning out the pantry, making our next meal and doing the other side of the counters. I am hoping that this weekend I can tackle a few more organizing tasks, though we are super busy with swim lessons for the girls, some appointments and plans to go out with friends, so we'll see!

Here is a cute one of the girls and their friend Penny watching the garbage trucks collect the trash. And probably looking for dogs lol.

Just a bunch of photos from the Getty Villa

Hah! Love this one!

This is the fertility goddess statue (of Venus) and the sign says to touch the statue. Alex watched a
bunch of people touch it, and wanted to give it a go herself! Very cute!
