Fun Pictures and Videos from the Weekend!

I wanted to get video of Lexie cracking up at this toy a friend sent. Lexie was laughing hysterically when I would touch the toy like she was - she would touch the threads on the toy, so I would touch them the same was as her, and she would just die laughing. She was cracking me up. I was glad I could make her laugh again once I got my phone to record it all.

Little sweet pea last week, looking for some books to read

Friday night - I was alone with the girls. This is inaccurate because it was
Lexie who gave me a harder time that night - too hard to even photograph.
Lexie refused to drink any bottle and screamed through the whole bed time process.

I finally put up our family photos in the dining room. LOVE LOVE
Need to add some pictures of the girls - too bad these frames are no longer made by Crate & Barrel

Lexie LOVES my phone. And loves when we take photos.
Here is one of me NOT at my best lol

Jamey was putting Lexie to bed - she has been a tough one to make smile lately,
but she cracks up when she's on his shoulders. She thinks its the best, and loves pulling his hair. lol

yeah!!!

I had to instagram it!

As well as our evening stroll through Burbank :)
Lexie ended up in daddy's arms at the end of the walk - she's been clingy to daddy lately
Josie was very jealous as she watched it all happen.

This morning (she wants the phone)

Smiles on demand. Seriously.

Such pretty smiles!!! (now give me the phone!)

35 Weeks

Its crazy to think the girls have been alive almost as long as I was pregnant with them. It seems to have followed the same speed curve, too: The first 12 weeks of pregnancy are a mess - you are so nervous that something will go wrong, especially when finding out it is twins, it makes each week seem to move like molasses. The first 12 weeks of newborns are awful - you just want a few uninterrupted hours of sleep, and maybe some recognition of your hard work in the form of a smile.

Honeymoon phase, weeks 12 - 24, are great - no nausea, your energy comes back, your fears are somewhat abated since you are in a safer zone. Your friends and family know you are pregnant so its fun. 3 month to 6 month old babies are a blast - they aren't moving yet but they are smiling and cooing. They are still only drinking bottles, no need to wash dishes or make purees. They are sleeping better hours. The time seems to fly by.

So that puts us in the third trimester. While pregnant, this is the trimester you start feeling "done." The end is near but anticipation and excitement make time seem to stand still. I remember those 2 weeks at home near the end were so boring, even though we had Christmas and New Year to break up the monotony.

My back is definitely as sore as it was in the 3rd tri, now that I am regularly carrying 2 20lbers (not sure if they are 20 lbs, but it feels like it) and having to scoop Josie up from her crawling adventures and put her back in her play room. We are in a weird in between phase where they are still "babies" drinking formula and needing to be carried. But they are doing toddler things like crawling and eating solids. Now that we are looking forward to having toddlers, and we are in this weird in between phase, time does seem to have slowed down. 4 months until their first birthday!

Hanging out with Aunt Becky

Eight months!!

Alex (aka Lexie)
I am at my happiest in the mornings
I haven't started crawling yet, but I want to and keep trying
I like to babble a lot
I like to sit and play with my toys
I like to hit two toys together to make noise
I like to clap and I am getting better at it
I like to bounce when I sit
I am shy around new people and take time to warm up
I love baths and playing peek-a-boo
I like chewing on straps and investigating each of my toys
I love purple and seem to grab at anything purple
I like fruits, especially pears and blueberries
I like crunching on apples and cheerios
I make a fun buzzing noise with my bottom lip
I love to go to sleep or take naps, I lie on my back with my yellow cow and
put my two first fingers in my mouth and sleep really well all through the night.

Josie
I am full of energy all the time and am happy most of the day
I am really crawling, getting into everything and pulling myself up
I like to talk and make noises, I make a popping sound and I like laughing
I still love baths and jumping in the jolly jumper
I crawl to my jumper until someone puts me in
I sleep through the night, but I toss and turn a lot and end up all over my crib
Sometimes I wake up and talk to myself for a while then fall back asleep
I love to climb on people and being carried around
I really am not a big fan of naps, but once I am asleep, I sleep well
I am learning how to clap, I really want to do it!
I love all toys and just want to play with everything
I love chewing on straps and tags
I love to look outside and see what everyone is doing
I love all food, except bottles. I want to eat real food for every meal
I like veggies, meats, fruits, cereals and crunchy foods
I love new people and I have no problem visiting everyone at a party

Clap clap clap Lexie Loo!!!!

Our weekend was epic!! The girls did fantastic with all of the adventures we took them on. Our picnic was over an hour away yet they did great in the car ride to and from, and had a blast playing while we were there, even though it was so incredibly hot out. Lexie cried for a few seconds in the car, but considering how long we were on the road, that was nothing.

We went to a pool party yesterday and they did well there, too. They LOVE the pool and totally had fun with all of the other babies, too. Josie is having a blast just crawling around and investigating everything and checking out the older and younger kids. She was obsessed with Myla, who is 13 months old and walking - she wanted to walk just like her.

The only issue we did have was that Lexie did not nap while out of the house. She napped in the car, but did not nap at either the picnic or pool party (Josie had no problem napping at the pool party, she was exhausted!). Lexie doesn't like to fall asleep in our arms, and was too curious to fall asleep in her car seat. I finally called it a day so she could get a nap in at home.

All in all, very successful. I look forward to more weekends of adventure. That said, I am exhausted!!! So maybe no adventures for at least a week or two!
