I write the blog at around 7 a.m. every Saturday then add the photos later. By now I have woken up, showered, put on make up and done my hair, or else I wont get another chance until much later in the morning. Today I decided on a ponytail, then of course had to flat iron the ends and style my bangs - it wasn't much of a short cut but at least my hair will be somewhat protected from tight baby fists.
We have a fun day planned. James is out of town so I am taking the girls on a play date this morning with other twin moms. They love older kids so they will get to see some older sets of twins and get excited. I just packed our outing bag which I am getting down to a science. Bottles, water, change of clothes, diapers, wipes, toys, teethers, etc.
Later my friend Dave is coming over with his 2 year old son and newborn daughter (6 or 7 weeks old??) His wife is also out of town so we thought, why not, lets mix all the kids together and see what happens with 2 on 4. Also a good excuse for him to get out of the house but have pretty much everything he might need for baby within reach.
Tomorrow we have some visitors coming as well, and I have a ton of house related stuff to do. If I am SUPER BRAVE I might take the girls with me to get my oil changed and car washed (desparately over due) - they have a nice waiting area.
This week so far has been pretty smooth - I've been able to wake up early and do some work out DVDs and go for walks in the evening, my sister has come over in the evenings to help with bed time and to eat dinner with me. We've been watching a different movie every night: Katy Perry movie (recommend), Drinking Buddies (do not recommend) and The Immigrant (recommend). I'm solo tonight and am trying to come up with something fun to watch.
All in all, an extremely different, and more successful, experience than the first time Jamey was out of town when we had earthquakes and 2 month shots for the girls, and even the last time when the girls and I all got so sick and it was all I could do to get from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. before I collapsed myself in bed. That said, it is only 7:30 a.m. on Saturday....
