Happy bump day - 20 weeks

And here we are at 20 weeks! 

This tummy is looking pretty big - can't believe we have 18 more weeks to go! But whatever it takes to have big squishy babies!

Average 20 week babies are 10.2 ounces and 6.5 inches from head to rump (butt). They are mostly fully developed, now its all just about getting fattened up for the harsh real world. 

We have a doctor's appointment tomorrow and will have another update then!

The Crocket Babies

I've been sending updates on the Crocket Babies individually via email and I guess it may be easier to just put the information we get week to week here. 

Below are our most recent pictures of the little guys or ladies cooking away. I apologize in advance if you are not the "3D ultrasound" kinda person, but they really are amazing photos, and you have been warned!

I am doing well and the babies are both just "perfect" as our perinatologist (pregnancy specialist) kept saying as he measured legs, arms, hearts and faces. They are weighing 9 ounces and 8 ounces, which is a good size for this "gestational" age, very nice and big. According to baby websites, they are the size of mangos this week. AND we made it through another scan without finding out genders :D They are now both head down, and we learned that baby B is the culprit kicking my belly button, which has not been the best feeling. Though I may be able to forgive as their little feet (last picture) are ADORABLE!! 

We have made some good progress with the nursery and even rented a storage space this past weekend, things are really moving along and I am hoping that in the next few weeks we will have the nursery ready for their grand arrival (before I get to be immobile).

March 2013 - L.A. Marathon!

Almost spring time!

We had a very hectic holiday season. I feel like we are still recovering. James spent December in Barcelona while I was in Arbitration (similar to a trial, in fact, this one was just like a trial, and was so involved and exhausting). Things have not let up too much since then with either of our jobs. James is leaving to go to France for one of the annual meetings, and my office has a few trials coming down the pike. 

We have been trying to enjoy this year's extra heavy snow fall (I'm not even kidding) by spending some time at the slopes. James is doing pretty well having switched from skiing to snow boarding. I am just trying to keep up my nerve on skis and trying not to get hurt, so we've both been taking it slow and easy.  I have also been training to run the L.A. Marathon, which is coming up in (gulp) three weeks. March 17.  I have been training like crazy and would hate to miss the run because of a skiing injury! We have also been enjoying watching the Stanley Cup Champion L.A. Kings games - even getting to go to a few at Staples Center. 

I had an incredibly fun birthday, celebrating with friends at a middle eastern restaurant with tons of food and dancing, and a belly dancing show at the end of the night.  This past weekend, my sister Becky and I spent 24 hours in Las Vegas to meet up with my mom for her birthday! It was a really fun treat to meet in Vegas and spend some time together. 

James's sister Jill is getting married in April, so we are gearing up for a trip out East for that. We have another east coast trip for James's friend Thomas's wedding in July. Otherwise this year may be a bit less adventurous than last year, though there is still time to come up with something!! 

For the Marathon, I will be posting a sponsorship link on Facebook for anyone who wants to "buy a mile" - every dollar of proceeds will be going to the Alzheimer's Association. They will be $20 each. Keep an eye out!

Our trip to Hawaii

Better late than never. A little photo recounting of our wonderful trip to Hawaii!!

In November, 2012, we went to Hawaii for 10 days. The first five days we stayed in Kaanapali and celebrated the wedding of our friends, Dan and Jil.

The last five days we stayed in Wailea and had a bit of a romantic/adventure vacation! Romancing the stone?

The golf game was a tournament set up for the wedding party. James ended up winning a prize!

The rehearsal dinner was at a Luau - open bar! - this was a fun night!

The next day was the wedding, at Merrimens. Great location with a beautiful sunset view.

The next day, James bravely faced the giant waves at Big Beach.

Checked into the Grand Wailea and they had romanced out the room - so lovely!

Dan and Jil joined us for the sail. It was good times! We got soaked and really enjoyed ourselves.

The next day we did the "Road to Hana" - we stopped several times to take in some sights (surfers braving some 20+ foot waves, waterfalls, expansive views, rain forest) went swimming in the falls and dipped our feet into some lava sand beaches and had some delicious local cuisine.

The next day, we went ziplining, which was just thrilling!!

We did a "canopy tour" and it felt like we were in the Ewok forest, very fun!

A quick stop at the Lavender Farm up the mountain to Haleakala.

A neat "Experimental Forest" that was planted on the way up Haleakala to see if any of these foreign trees could thrive in Hawaii. Some did not and others started to destroy the local ecosystem. It was pretty neat to walk through though, and a nice break from the heat and humidity.

Very romantic though, what a wonderful evening with my awesome Jamey - we watched the sun set over the island then watched hours of shooting stars and constellations. The more you stared at the sky, the harder it was to find a spot without a star. Just incredible.
