26 Weeks - Moving Along

Here we are at 26 weeks and the girls are moving right along with hitting their milestones. They are eating purees and loving them - peas and pears are big favorites. They seem to like everything new that they try.

Cherries

They are both really working on crawling - tummy time is no problem for them, and they are lifting themselves way up! They love to play in that position for long periods of time and seem to be enjoying the new perspective.

Sitting, on the other hand, is a bit rockier - they have each done it for a few moments, sometimes even longer, but they have to be in the mood. And neither one of them has sat for a long period of time. Sitting usually ends in a crash landing or folding over and getting stuck. Poor Alex starts to whimper in distress when she finds herself folded over.

They are both reaching for toys that are out of reach and usually figure out how to get them. They look at things when I point to them. They love to watch me do things in the kitchen, which is also kind of a new independence for me, since I am starting to feel like getting things done is part of entertaining them now - rather than feeling like I am ignoring the girls by doing dishes or laundry. (Though I used to do a whole show of folding the laundry for them and they loved it back when they were in their rock n plays).

Speaking of getting things done, we have a lot to do with our big move - many items still need to be boxed up and brought over to the new place before the movers do their thing. I had taken some time off to pack but a combination of that time going by so quickly, and not being able to pack things we need for the next two weeks, leaves us with a lot more last minute stuff than I had anticipated. Not to mention, I haven't even started looking into getting the new place set up for cable/power/internet/water/trash! Nor have we bought the appliances we need for the new place: fridge, washer and dryer! Moving without kids is a pain, but moving with babies is kind of impossible. We'll get it done, but I am not sure how!
