Alex is trying so hard to crawl!! She has made some progress this past week, and can now get her little leg out from under her and onto all fours, but then doesn’t really go beyond that. According to my Wonder Weeks app, she is right on target, though! (I.e., I was told that my baby should be starting to try to learn to crawl now...yup!) And, according to the Wonder Weeks, we have 6 weeks of happy until the next storm! YAY!
But what about Josie?! She is already crawling like a rockstar and pulling herself up our legs to indicate she wants us to hold her hands and help her walk. She is what they call a “cruiser” and is holding on to things while she walks from spot to spot.
Alex is also finally holding on to things to stand - I’ll always count on Alex being our “baby” as she has always looked like a perfect little baby. Now that she is standing, it really makes her look like a baby standing. Josie, on the other hand, has always looked like she went from newborn to a toddler. She’s such a little tiny girl way ahead of the game with her mobility.
Alex is still clapping and waving and even doing the hand movements to twinkle twinkle. Josie is getting there and even clapped a little yesterday! Its just absolutely amazing to see how different these two sisters are side by side. I am always a little taken aback when people ask if they are twins - yes!! I forgot! They are!

Last night we tried something new - we put the girls in PJs and brought bottles and went for a walk. The last Friday of each month Burbank has a street fair with music, classic cars, and food trucks. We thought we would look at the trucks and decide on dinner, feed the girls, tuck them into their stroller seats (that fully recline!) and stroll around as they slept. They did not sleep! We got food and came home and put them to bed about an hour later than usual. They were SO GOOD while we were out - quiet and looking around at everything. They talked for a bit in their cribs then fell asleep. And they are up talking at their normal time, too :) (its so cute to hear them over the monitor!) Its so good to know that we have these options open to us - and I am getting less and less nervous for our long trip back East - these girls are going to kill it!

Today we are heading to a farm that lets kids feed baby animals, has a corn maze, pig races and a pumpkin patch. The girls will love seeing all of the animals, and they are really good at Story Time watching the entertainment. We will see how they do today! I keep getting very excited for "next year" as we do things - like NEXT YEAR the girls will be running around and having the best time. NEXT YEAR they will be eating and dancing with us at the car show. NEXT YEAR they will be so excited to go to the beach. Its only getting better and better, so I have no doubt NEXT YEAR is going to ROCK.
